Analysis 2025

Bucharest

SECTOR 1

  • Henri Coandă International Airport (Otopeni) – It is the main airport in Romania and handles millions of passengers annually. Traffic flow in the airport area is very high, both on the Bucharest-Ploiești Highway and on the National Road 1 (DN1), the main arteries connecting the city. It is estimated that road traffic in this area can reach 40,000 - 50,000 vehicles daily, depending on the season and flight schedule.

  • Aurel Vlaicu International Airport (Băneasa) – Although currently used for private and business flights, it was once the main airport in Bucharest. The area around Băneasa Airport is also busy, especially due to its proximity to DN1 and the numerous shopping centers nearby, with an estimated traffic of 20,000 - 30,000 vehicles per day.

  • It is estimated that the North Railway Station area can have a flow of approximately 50,000 - 70,000 vehicles per day, depending on the time of day and days of the week, due to the connection with the city center and other major sectors.

DISTRICT 4

  • South Square is one of the busiest intersections in the city, with a daily flow of over 50,000 vehicles, especially during rush hours.

  • Olteniței Road and Calea Văcărești can register between 30,000 and 40,000 vehicles per day, considering that they are important arteries connecting the south of Bucharest to the center.

  • During peak hours (in the morning between 7-9 and in the evening between 17-19), traffic can increase by up to 30-40%, depending on the day of the week and weather conditions.

PEPPER

  • Pipera is an area known for its congestion, due to its office buildings and corporate center. Daily traffic in Pipera, on arteries such as Pipera Road and Dimitrie Pompeiu Boulevard, can reach approximately 50,000 - 60,000 vehicles per day, during peak hours.

  • Much of this traffic comes from the daily commute of employees to multinational headquarters, which contributes to road congestion in northeast Bucharest.

ILFOV

  • The Voluntari area is crossed by important arteries such as the E85 Road (Bucharest-Urziceni) and the Ring Road, which makes traffic intense, especially in the morning and evening.

  • On E85, traffic is estimated at over 30,000 - 40,000 vehicles daily, especially at access points to Bucharest.
